TCS NQT 2026 – Fresher Openings & Exam Pattern

It is designed for final-year and pre-final-year students from undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programs, as well as graduates with up to two years of experience. The NQT score is valid for two years and can be used not only to apply for jobs at TCS but also for other companies that accept the NQT score.
Freshers from various streams like B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc, BCA, M.E., M.Tech, MCA and other degree programs can apply, provided they meet the academic eligibility criteria such as minimum percentage requirements and no active backlogs as per the hiring cycle.

The exam pattern of TCS NQT is divided into two main sections: Foundation and Advanced.
1. Foundation Section (Mandatory)
The Foundation section is compulsory for all candidates and includes:
- Numerical Ability
- Verbal Ability
- Reasoning Ability
The total duration is approximately 75 minutes. This section tests aptitude skills such as arithmetic, grammar, comprehension, and logical reasoning.
2. Advanced Section (For Digital & Prime Roles)
The Advanced section is required for candidates aiming for higher roles like Digital or Prime. It includes:
- Advanced Quantitative & Reasoning
- Coding Test
The coding section generally contains programming problems that test problem-solving and programming knowledge in languages like C, C++, Java, or Python. The total duration of both sections together is around three hours.
